Cozy waterfront cabins in a historic setting

Experience both comfort and history with an overnight stay in one of our brand-new, four-season cabins, nestled along the stunning shoreline of Georgian Bay. Each climate‑controlled cabin offers a cozy, rustic glamping retreat designed for one or two guests. Step outside to your private firepit and unwind with peaceful, waterfront views as the sun sets. Modern washrooms and full shower facilities are just a short walk away, ensuring a convenient and relaxing stay.

Even better, your cabin stay includes access to immersive experiences found only at Discovery Harbour. This April, enjoy an exclusive guided tour led by a seasoned, costumed historical interpreter—offered before the historic site officially opens for the season!

Each cabin includes:

  • Access to an on-site refresh station with fully accessible and modern washrooms, showers, and a water refilling station
  • A double bed and mattress
  • Table with chairs
  • Parking for one vehicle
  • Thoughtful lighting, power outlets, and charging stations
  • An outdoor firepit
  • Two Muskoka chairs
  • Spectacular views of Georgian Bay
  • Blackout curtains

NOTE: Wi-Fi, bedding, pillows, towels and toiletries are not included. Please bring your own linens.

By booking an overnight stay, you agree to all terms and conditions. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with them.

Cabin capacity:

Each cabin sleeps a maximum of two people.

Booking fees (tax included):

  • $200 per night including an on-site historical experience
  • $22 (for a campfire bundle including firewood, kindling, a firestarter and matches (optional). If you book after 5 p.m. for the same night, please note that wood or campfire supplies will be delivered the following day.
  • Booking fees include admission to Discovery Harbour historic site during your stay.

PETS

Only SERVICE ANIMALS specifically trained to aid a person with
a disability are permitted in the cabins. Animals must be readily identified (vest or harness worn by the animal, or note from a regulated health professional). Please leave your family pets at home during your stay. Thank you for your understanding.

Enjoy a cozy cabin in Ontario’s playground, close to beautiful provincial parks, quaint little towns, and so much more. Your stay includes a guided tour of Discovery Harbour before it officially opens to the public.

  • Minimum length of stay:
    • July 1 to September 6: two nights
    • All other dates: one night

Tips

  • Wi-Fi, bedding, pillows and towels are not included. Please
    bring your own linens.
  • For guided tours, please be sure to select your start time when you book your cabin.
  • While the paths in the camping area are lit, we suggest bringing flashlights or headlamps to ensure your safety.
  • Consider packing water bottles.

SPring tours

Join an exclusive, small-group tour led by one of our most seasoned historical interpreters this spring—before we are officially open! Tours include a pre-determined route through the historic site and access to the museum and gift shop.  Tickets for Spring Tours are included in your overnight reservation fee!

Terms and conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all guests staying in roofed accommodations (cabins) at Discovery Harbour, operated by Huronia Historical Parks (HHP). By booking and staying in our accommodations, you agree to comply with the following policies:

All guests must maintain the accommodation and surrounding area in a clean and sanitary condition at all times. Upon departure, the facility must be returned to its original condition.

Guests can check in as early as 2 p.m. As gates are electronic and code operated, guests are welcome to arrive as late as required as long as they don’t violate noise policies. Codes for gates and cabin doors will be provided in your booking confirmation email.

Guests are asked to check out by 10 a.m. at the latest to allow us enough time to prepare for our next visitors.

To protect local ecosystems, no outside firewood may be brought onto Huronia Historical Parks property. If you would like to build a fire, please pre-purchase local wood through our online booking system (it will be delivered to your cabin) or visit our giftshop during operating hours.

All food, beverages, cooking equipment, and waste must be stored securely inside cabins or personal vehicles when not in use.

Fireworks and firearms are strictly prohibited on all HHP property.

July 1 to September 6: 2-night minimum

All other dates: 1-night minimum

Maximum stay: 14 consecutive nights

Full refund: Available for cancellations made 8 or more days before arrival. Cancellations within the approved window can be made via the link at the top of your reservation email.

Late cancellations (7 days or fewer) can be requested overnight.hhp@ontario.ca but no refund (full or partial) is guaranteed.

No refunds or cancellations will be issued for early departures.

Drinking water is available at the refillable water bottle station in the Discovery Harbour refresh station by your cabin.

Water from Georgian Bay may not be potable and should not be consumed.

Access swimming in Georgian Bay at your own risk. No lifeguards are on duty. For beach advisories, boil water notices, or fire bans, visit www.penetanguishene.ca/.

Excessive or disruptive noise is prohibited at all times on Huronia Historical Parks property.

Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night.

All guests of Discovery Harbour are expected to:

  • Be respectful of others’ enjoyment of the park, day or night.
  • Avoid discriminatory, harassing, or abusive behavior.
  • Refrain from excessive noise or disruptive conduct.

Huronia Historical Parks is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal property, including personal vehicles (and their contents) parked on the premises.

First aid kits are available at the Discovery Harbour refresh station by your cabin and in the main Visitor Centre.

For all emergencies, dial 9-1-1.

Emergency contact numbers are posted in each cabin and shared washroom facilities inside the refresh station by your cabin.

Owners are responsible for any damage caused by pets. You may be charged the value of the furniture or infrastructure damaged by your pet.

Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside all roofed accommodations and HHP buildings, including cabins.

Smoking and vaping are only permitted at Discovery Harbour’s designated smoking area which is approximately outside gate C.

All guests must comply with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.

Alcohol: Permitted only within your designated roofed accommodation site, including your cabin’s outdoor seating area.

Cannabis: Medical cannabis may be consumed within your registered site. Smoking cannabis indoors is strictly prohibited.

All guests must comply with Ontario’s Cannabis Laws and the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.

Parking for one vehicle – located right next to your cabin – is included in the cost of booking your roofed accommodation.

Additional vehicles will be required to park in the main parking lot at Discovery Harbour, a short drive from the cabin site.

Registered guests are responsible for their visitors. Visitors must be respectful of other guests and adhere to all terms and conditions above, including the code of conduct.

All visitors must park in Discovey Harbour’s regular admissions parking lot, a short drive from the cabin site.

Visitors must purchase admission to any HHP site and are only permitted within the park during the designated day-use hours. Guests are the responsibility of the registered campers when at the campsite/roofed accommodation. 

Access to the historic site is limited to the duration of guests’ on‑site historic experience, which is included in the cost of their stay, or during the historic site’s official operating hours.

Guests are not permitted to enter or remain within any area of the historic site outside of these designated times.

Following the conclusion of operating hours, guests must remain within the authorized overnight experience area while at Discovery Harbour.

Ontario teachers, members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Indigenous persons gain free entry. Your Discovery Harbour paid receipt gets you 50% off at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons during the regular season (May to September). Exceptions apply.
