Discovery Harbour is open to the general public 7 days a week from May 18 until September 1, 2024.
New in 2024:
Daily guided tours are available 7 days/week as of July 1
English guided tour: 11:15 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.
French guided tour: 1:00 p.m.
Cost for guided tour: $5.00 per person, includes tax.
Tickets can be purchased online in advance (available soon), or at admissions upon arrival.
A daytime Escape Room is available as of May 18
English Escape Room: 7 days/week 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
French Escape Room: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
Cost for Escape Room: $24.00 per person includes tax.
Tickets can be purchased online in advance (available soon), as this is a limited availability product.
Group Tours
Scheduled group tours are available from mid-May to early September.
Deals and packages
Ontario teachers, members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Indigenous persons gain free entry. Your Discovery Harbour paid receipt gets you 50% off at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons during the regular season (May to September). Exceptions apply.
Season passes
For just $35, tax included, season pass holders gain unlimited admission to both Sainte-Marie and Discovery Harbour during their visitor seasons, as well as unlimited admission to most special events at both historical attractions. The passes include event favourites like First Light and Pumpkinferno!
Hours and rates
We reopen to the general public on May 18, 2024. Until then, visitors are invited to check out our special events or book a group tour. Please allow about 1.5 hours for your visit. We are open rain or shine and are dog-friendly.
Group visits
Discovery Harbour welcomes groups for guided or self-guided tours of Ontario’s most picturesque historic attraction, with friendly knowledgeable costumed staff. Tours may be available in both English and French.

Download the Huronia Historical Parks app, available in your app store, for a comprehensive audio tour in English or French. Maps are available at ticket booth in several languages and complement our knowledgeable on-site historical interpreters.
Find us
Find us at 93 Jury Drive in Penetanguishene, only 45 minutes from Barrie, Ontario. Discovery Harbour is accessible from Ontario’s major provincial highways and is located on beautiful Penetanguishene Bay. Parking is free and bike racks are available.
Restaurant
Captain Robert’s Table is currently closed but is available for private rentals at various times throughout the year.
Retail store
Barracks Boutique, our gift shop, is located right next to our ticket booth at the main entrance. Pick up Discovery Harbour souvenirs, support local Indigenous artisans, and grab delicious snacks, cold drinks or treat the kids to ice cream on a hot day.
King’s Wharf Theatre
The King’s Wharf Theatre is a 371-seat theatre flanked by majestic tall ships and historic buildings. This unique venue is operated by award-winning Drayton Entertainment, one of Canada’s most successful professional theatre companies.
